The solo action takes place in an invasion of the alien civilization Stroggs, the player is a soldier of (presumably) humanity's last attempt to free itself from early assimilation by the stroggs: extraterrestrial cyborgs that invade planets to take away their resources, however, the stroggs' resources are living beings to function with their machines thus expanding their domain.
